The RaSi is mandatory and must be renewed periodically.
The RaSi Safety Report is a mandatory document issued by an independent control body that certifies the conformity of the electrical system with current regulations. This document has a limited validity over time and must be delivered to the network operator by the expiry date.
When the Safety Report of the electrical system approaches its expiry date, the owner must contact an independent control body to carry out an inspection and new measurements.

In the event of non-compliance of the system, the inspector must draw up a List of defects that must be delivered to an electrician. This is because the person carrying out the inspection cannot also proceed to the elimination of defects (Art. 31, OIBT).

• The inspector must issue the owner a document called List of Defects.
• The owner must send the List of Defects to a trusted electrician.
• The electrician must correct the defects found and sign the document.
• The owner must send the document to the supervisory body which evaluates the work and signs the RaSi.
• The document must be forwarded by the network owner and manager

Every electrical system must be certified at regular intervals, which vary depending on the type of premises and intended use. For example, the RaSi certificate for private homes must be renewed every 20 years, 10 years for shops, 5 years for offices, etc. The frequency of inspection is established by the Ordinance on Low Voltage Installations (OIBT, 2002). The main deadlines are listed below:

20 years: private homes
10 years: shops, offices, warehouses, farms, water supply systems, etc...
5 years: restaurants and bars, hotels, retirement homes, schools, kindergartens, playgrounds, sports fields, department stores, industries, etc...
3 years: fuel stations and vehicle repair shops located in certain areas
1 year: construction sites, temporary installations, fuel depots, etc.
